What's Up RISING FANS? I guess this is where I tell you about me, so here we go.... I have loved Hard Rock all my life! My current favorite bands are Avenged Sevenfold, and Sevendust. I wont lie, I have listened to almost all Genres of music at times, and yes even Rap! What can I say... I Love Bass! And the louder it is the better it sounds! I have even had my share of car stereo systems, but I was one of the few that would be rollin around bumpin Pantera at 3000 Watts! As much as I loved Bass, I never thought I would find my calling as a Bass Player until just over a year ago. I started playing guitar when I was about 13, and my first song I learned was "Puff the Magic Dragon", LOL.. Don't ask, I am just being honest. My Dad played guitar and was a great singer, and passed on his talents to my Brother Tommy and I, but for me it took many years later to find the passion and dedication it takes to become a great musician. I was 14 when I met Mike, and he abosultely blew me away at how good he was at playing guitar. Around the same time my Brother Tommy was getting good at singing, but I still had no clue what I wanted to do. I could sing, and play guitar, but could not sing like Tommy, nor play guitar like Mike, I didn't know how to play the drums, and at the time didn't want to play Bass. For years as much as I loved music, my playing never advanced. For the next 10 years I didn't really play that much but supported both Mike and my Brother in their passion for music. Tommy started kicking ass at singing, and made me soo proud of him, and Mike continued to get even better on guitar. Between the 2 of them, there was soo much talent, it was obvious one day they would both be playing on stage together amazing people with their talents! So where the hell do I fit in? I finally by the age of 24 took my guitar playing to the next level and started practicing like I should have done 10 years prior to that. It's funny how you get better when you practice! LOL. Mike and I began writing original songs together and tried to start an original band. But at this point in my life I was married and had kids, and just didn't have the time it took to be in an original band. But I wanted to keep moving forward, so I joined the Cover Band "Hairy Baby" as a rhythm guitarist. Tommy was their lead singer, and I was happy to be playing on stage with him. I continued getting better at playing and learned alot while performing with them. Although it wasn't exactly my style of music, so Mike, Tommy and I got together and started talking about putting together a Hard Rock Cover Band, and our goal was to become the best! This was spring of 2007, and to get things going I switched to Bass until we would come across a Bass Player. The plan was for us to have 2 guitars, so we needed to find the right Bass Player and drummer. During our search, I found that Bass was becoming soo natural for me, and I told Tommy and Mike that I wanted to continue as the Bass Player. But I needed to work hard because it was still a new instrument to me. But with playing bass, I found the drive for playing that I never had, and I finally knew what I wanted to become great at. For the next year I practiced any time I got, and studied great Bass Players and started learning different styles, and techniques. I play mostly with a pick. With the style of music we play, and from switching from guitar I find it more natural for me. Well, in April of 2008 Chris joined the band and RISING was ready to hit the scene! Since then we have been Rocking Bars & Venues all over Minnesota and Wisconsin, and playing the music we all love! As of May 2009, we took it to the Next Level and we now play numerous shows every month! We have a new drummer "Donny" and he Kicks Some Ass! Well that's my story! Now get your ass out to our next show and watch us tear it up! AND LET ME HEAR YOU SAY RISING!!!!!!
