CHAPTER I: THE BIRTH OF RISING April 2007, Brothers Rob & Tommy & Best Friend Mike Decided It Was Time To Get Together & Form The Band They Had Talked About For Years. Music Had Always Been A Huge Part Of Their Lives & By This Time Rob Was 26, Tommy Was 25 & Mike Was 26! All 3 Of Them Were Married & Were Dads, So To Begin As An All Original Band Didn't Seem Possible. But With The Passion All 3 Had For Music, They Decided To Start Out As A Cover Band. But Not Just Any Cover Band, They Wanted To Play The Music They Loved & That Influenced Them, So When The Time Was Right They Could Shift The Band Towards All Original & Hopefully Have Built A Fan Base Along The Way. What They Didn't Know Is That This Genre Of Music Wasn't Accepted In The Cover Scene And They Would Find That Out Very Quickly. Rob & Tommy Had Played In Variety Cover Bands Prior To This Project & Figured They Had A Taste Of The Cover Scene Already & Things Would Work Out Just Fine. Mike On The Other Hand Was Born To Write His Own Music & Up Until Then Refused To Play In Any Cover Band. But With The Idea Behind This Band Mike Was Down For It & They Began Creating Their List Of Songs They Would Cover. A List Of Songs You Had Never Seen A Cover Band Attempt. They Didn't Have A Drummer Yet, So They Would Learn The Songs, Then Track Them With Mike Playing The Drums. The First Obstacle They Came Across Was That Finding The Right Drummer Seemed Impossible. Before They Ever Played A Show They Had About A Dozen Different Drummers Come & Go, That Either Didn't Cut It, Or Wouldn't Commit! Through Out This Process The 3 Of Them Decided On A Band Name, Which Was "RISING" A Name With Multiple Meanings: "Never Accepting To Fail", "To Always Move Forward", "The Title Of A Song By One Of Their Influences (Stuck Mojo)" & Most Importantly For Rob & Tommy's Father Who Was An Amazing Musician That Had Passed Away In January Of 2002 & Never Got To See His 2 Sons & Their Best Friend Play In A Band Together" It Was Something Their Father Talked About All The Time. Mike Had Always Been Like A Brother To Rob & Tommy & Had A Relationship With Their Father As He Was Also One Of His Sons! So The Band "RISING" Was Destined To Happen! After A Year Of Hard Work, Dedication & Dealing With All The Obstacles They Were Faced With, RISING Had A Solid Drummer, A List Of 45 Carefully Picked Covers & Their First Gig Booked For June 21st, 2008 & They Were Ready To Hit The Scene. CHAPTER II: RISING HITS THE SCENE
JUNE 2008, RISING Plays Their First Bar Gig @ Neisen's In Savage, MN. RISING, Their Families & Their Friends Had Waited A Long Time For This Day To Come & It Was Finally Here. They Played Their Hearts Out That Night! RISING Officially Broke Into The Music Scene & Was Ready To Take The Ride! During The First Year Of Gigging, RISING Seemed To Have Packed Shows, But Soon Started To Notice That The Crowds Were Dying Out & That Really Their Fans Were Basically Family & Friends. Why Isn't There New Faces Coming To See Us They Wondered. Well The Music Scene Was Dying & It Was Bad Timing To Become The New Band Hitting The Scene. Without A Big Draw The Bars & Clubs Would Use The Genre Of Music As The Excuse To Why People Didn't Come. The Bars Would Keep Booking The Same Variety Bands Thinking It's The Safe Bet & RISING Would Be Last To Get Booked. RISING Didn't Know What To Do Now, & Needed To Figure Out How To Keep It Going, So They Lightened Up Their Set List To Stay Alive. But Right Away It Felt Like A Mistake.....It Wasn't RISING Anymore, It Just Didn't Feel Right, But The Bars Were Booking Them Now. Well, It Wasn't Long Before They Went Back To The Plan, Which Meant Playing Hard Rock & Metal. That's Who RISING Is, They Play Pantera, Skipknot, Mudvayne, Lamb Of God, Avenged Sevenfold, "Not" Nickelback, Buck Cherry & So On. So They Decided The Only Way For This To Work Is To Promote Harder Than Any Other Cover Band Out There & That's Exactly What They Did. They Did Whatever It Took To Find Their FANS & They Showed The Bars And Clubs That It Is Possible. Throughout The Next Year, RISING Played Over 100 Shows & Along The Way Changed Out Their Drummer Twice & Discovered The Missing Piece Of The Puzzle In May Of 2010, And That Was 17 Year Old Max. An Amazing Drummer That Was Destined To Be Part Of RISING. Around The Same time RISING Decided To Add Something Exciting To Their Show, And That Was Adding Dancers Who Soon Become Known As The Rising Vixens. They Were Now RISING To The Top, With Tons Of Talent, A Unique Set List, Sexy Dancers, & Even Re-Writing Songs From Different Genres In Their Heavy RISING Way, Plus Building A Die Hard Fan Base, It Seemed Like Everything Was Heading In The Right Direction. RISING Was Even Starting To Write Originals In Late Summer Of 2011 & Was Planning On Introducing Them In 2012. But Something Happened......Soon To Be Known As The Death Of RISING. CHAPTER III: THE DEATH OF RISING
OCTOBER 2011, Was Around The Time RISING Began Realizing Something Was Happening. Not Knowing Why, But The Fans Started Dropping, The Calendar Had Less Shows, There Was A Lot Of Tension In The Band, The Vixens Were Fading Out & The Bars Wouldn't Rebook Them....Something Wasn't Right. What Is Going On??? The Show Calendar Ended On December 31st, 2011 & There Were No Shows Booked Past That Date. Then Tommy Started Having Dreams & Premonitions Of RISING Dying In Some Sort Of Horrible Accident That Would Happen After The Show On New Years Eve. Is All This A Sign That RISING Is Over??? So RISING Had A Meeting In November Of 2011 And Then Announced That New Years Eve Would Be Their Final Show. Alot Of Confusion Through Out December 2011, Fans Asking What's Going On, People Calling It A Hoax, Magazine Interviews, Just Lots Of Attention Once They Annouced The Final Show. So RISING Plays Their Remaining Shows Through December 2011 With Lots Of Fans Showing Their Support! Now December 31st 2011 Comes & RISING Plays Their Final Show @ Dean's In Maplewood, MN. They Celebrate The New Year With Their Fans Who Made It Out In The Bad Weather & Have A Great Time & Then 2AM Hits And The Bar Closes. So The Band Heads To The Studio For An After Party With A Few Fans Following Behind Them. The Fans Then Witness Their Van Take A Corner Too Fast In The Snow And Lose Control, Flipping Multiple Times. Around 3AM They Are All Pronounced DEAD & January 1st, 2012 Becomes A Very Sad Day For All Their Fans And Loved Ones! Their Premonition Was Real...Nothing Can Change Now...RISING Is DEAD!!! CHAPTER IV: DEAD RISING
JANUARY 2012, On Friday The 13th, RISING Came Back From The Dead & Performed An Amazing Show @ Pickle Park In Fridley, MN. Not Knowing Who DEAD RISING Was, All Their FANS Came To Pickle Park To Whitness For Themselves Who Was Going To Hit The Stage! First A Documentary Video Was Played On The Big Screen... "THE RISING STORY" The Video Ended With Never Before Seen Footage Of Their Death From New Years Eve. When The Lights Hit & Their FANS Began Cheering, It Was Not RISING On The Stage, But 4 Unknown Musicians Claiming To Be DEAD RISING. But All Of A Sudden The 5 Dead Bodies Of RISING, Now Zombies... Entered The Building, Took Over The Stage & Performed A Show Their FANS Will Never Forget! It Was Then Official, RISING Is Back From The Dead! Now Known As DEAD RISING, Here We Are In Chapter IV...So If You Want To See A Performance Like You Have Never Seen Before, Check The Calendar & Get Your ASS To The Next DEAD RISING Show!!! |
